Save or Splurge? Tatcha The Water Cream and Deep Cleanse Review

Welcome back to another save or splurge where I review a product and determine if it is better to save your money and skip this product or to splurge and buy it!

Today I will be sharing my thoughts on Tatcha The Deep Cleanse and The Water Cream.

Keep in mind, what works for me may not work for you due to our skin being unique.

The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser

This is a light gel formula exfoliating cleanser with a natural exfoliant called Japanese Luffa fruit. Although it is an exfoliating cleanser, the product is meant for daily use because it is a very light exfoliant. The cleanser claims to be suitable for all skin types, tighten pores, remove oiliness, and uneven texture.

The gel formula actually lathers into a creamy formula once you rub it onto your skin with water. The exfoliating fruit gives the cleanser a nice scent and I really loved the smell as it is not over powering.

The mini size which I have costs $16.00 USD for 50 ML/1.7 FL. OZ and the full size is for $38.00 USD for 150 ML/5 FL. OZ.. I have heard so many great things about Tatcha so when my friend gifted me this, I was excited! I understand that this is an expensive product. I definitely do a lot of research before spending a lot of money for a product. I recommend you do the same!

Overall, I really enjoyed this cleanser because it leaves my skin feeling supple and hydrated. It is not drying at all plus my skin feels really clean and refreshed. It is quite pricey, but it does the job well and lives up to its claims.

Save or Splurge?

This one was tricky but even though I really liked it, it was not life changing. Therefore, I would save your money and opt for other cleansers.

The Water Cream

The water cream is an oil free moisturizer and is formulated with Japanese wild rose and Japanese leopard lily. Tatcha claims it has anti aging properties and is pore perfecting. The texture is water like and smooth which was very unique. It feels cooling and non greasy when I apply it. The scent is light and again not overpowering. I think the lightweight formula is great for normal to oily skin types as it claims because you don’t need much.

The mini version which I have costs $20.00 USD for 10 ML/0.34 FL. OZ. Full size is $68.00 USD for 50 ML/1.7 FL. OZ. In other words, EXPENSIVE. The mini sized lasted me for three months though so if you want I suggest trying the mini size. The packaging on the mini versions is sleek and smooth and I like how aesthetic it looks too.

I absolutely loved this cream so much! It feels like I went to a spa and had a facial done because of the cooling sensation and how smooth my skin feels.

Save or Splurge?

Splurge for the mini size! The water cream was a hit for me because not only did it hydrate my skin but it also left a light sheen which gave my skin a nice glow!

What do you guys think of Tatcha? Is it something that you would try? I hope this was useful for you skincare lovers out there like me! I have ordered some new skincare by The Ordinary from Sephora so I can’t wait to try those out too.

Thank you for reading and until next time don’t forget to stay Chic Neat and Sweet!

Sincerely, Aditi

    1. Glad I’m not the only one! I had high hopes for the cleanser. Just proves that high end products aren’t always better. Thanks for stopping by!
