Just two days ago, I nearly exploded. By exploded I mean losing your cool, getting super angry and feeling strong emotions. It’s hard to know what to do when you feel angry, lost or stressed and confused.
Think of a time when you had an argument over a simple thing and then all of a sudden it turned into a big fight. You feel angry for letting it go out of control. When you think about it, you become very emotional and break down. It hits you. All the built up stress, emotions and feelings let out. Tears start running down your face.
One of the hardest things I’ve done is to let myself feel these emotions. Sometimes, I don’t know why I feel a certain way. I learned though that we don’t have to make sense of it. It happened and now we feel lighter and relieved. Why? Because you allowed and accepted yourself to let it out and feel okay.
The most important thing is that we don’t give up. No matter how many times we feel like exploding and giving up on life. On ourselves. Don’t lose hope.
If you do feel like you are about to explode, give yourself time to let it out. Go away from the situation. Be alone and let whatever thoughts come. Breathe. Talk to yourself about it. Feel everything. Then, when you feel you are ready, go back to the situation you were in and try again.
