Day 173473948 of quarantine. I did stuff. I feel bleh. I look eek.
Hopefully that is NOT you! Just a reminder: This is temporary.
If you are feeling lost or have been for a few weeks now, it is so normal. When you see people on social media being “productive” or seeming all “put together”, it can be discouraging.
Please do not feel bad about yourself if you see this. We are all so unique and talented. You can’t compare apples to oranges and similarly you shouldn’t compare yourself to anyone else!
After weeks of seeing negative news and not being around fellow humans, it does affect you energetically. If you ignore these feelings, you could notice physical pain in your body.
Here are some ways you can ease the tension, protect your energy, and feel good right now.
Best for: feeling stuck, unmotivated, and low energy
It is pronounced “chee gung” and you basically move energy also called chi by tapping your body and breathing deeply while moving your arms and legs in soft movements.
This is the YouTube channel I follow: Yoqi Yoga and Qigong. They have great beginner QiGong flows.
Best for: tiredness
The power of a power nap is transformational. If you feel that afternoon slump coming on while working, take a quick 10 minutes break and power nap.
The best time for a power nap is between 1 pm-3 pm according to Mark Stibich PhD.
Disconnect from news and social media
Best for: constantly checking the news, unknown sense of anxiety, and negativity
The easiest way to remove the negativity instantly is to catch yourself before you start scrolling through the news and social media.
I recommend to “hide” your news/social apps in a different location on your phone. That way you can catch yourself looking for the news app and instantly get rid of that habit.
Listen to high energy songs
Best for: easing tension, removing stress, and clearing your low mood
I highly suggest creating a playlist with your favorite high energy songs.
Whenever I am in a low mood, I turn up my music and suddenly I start singing and dancing! Instant mood boost!
Tend to your body
Best for: overall health and wellbeing
Your body is super important to take care of. Notice what food you are feeding yourself, how stiff your neck is, what time you go to sleep, and maybe your dark circles?
The important thing right now is to move your body in some way, shape, or form!! Don’t ignore your body!!
Thank you for reading and until next time don’t forget to stay Chic Neat and Sweet!
Hey all! This month for students is all about preparing for going back to school. I know that this is an exciting time for those transitioning to high school or college (like me). But due to uncontrollable events, most schools/universities are having to go virtual. This is not what I imagined for my first year…
Hey there! Being healthy is the most overlooked thing for students because we are so focused on school, grades, and studying that we never pay attention to what we are eating. Not only students but anyone who wants to live a healthy lifestyle should be able to without feeling stressed or overwhelmed. I think that…
Today I want to talk about a book I recently read called The Happiness Equation by Neil Pasricha. I want to share what I learnt from the book because it is so important! In the book, the author outlines nine secrets that will make you happy. I want to share the first thing which is…
