Beauty Tips: Summer Edition

Summerrrrr! Me? Excited for summer? What!? No way that’s crazy!

Some may say that I am over ecstatic for sunburn, tan lines and sand in my swimsuit but that’s what blizzards, icy roads and negative degree weather for 6 months does to you.

As I am typing this post, it’s 72 degrees farenheit, my room’s fan is on high and I feel like chopping off my shoulder length hair but it’s great I love summer!!

The high temp and humid weather definitely makes me change up some of the things that I do in my beauty routine.

<< Tip #1 DIY Sugar Scrub >>

This is a very simple scrub to make with only 2 ingredients: sugar and olive or coconut oil! I love using a scrub on my legs before I shave because the sugar scrubs off the dead skin and the oil moisturizes your skin. Check out the blog post for more details.

<< Tip #2 Face Mists >>

Use a cooling face mist to keep your skin refreshed during the summer. I personally like to spray rosewater or mix water with your choice of essential oil and add it to a mini spray bottle. You can DIY it or there are plenty of face mists you can buy as well.

<< Tip #3 Waterproof Makeup >>

Do you know how it feels when you’ve spent at least an hour doing your makeup but then you go outside for literally two seconds and lo and behold you are shiny and bleh?? Yeah let’s just say I’ve been there and done that, haha. Waterproof makeup is the answer ladies, your welcome.

<< Tip #4 Fresh Hair >>

I find myself washing my hair too many times during the summer which is not healthy for your hair. To increase the freshness of your hair, try using dry shampoo or spritzing your favorite perfume

<< Tip #5 Water Based Moisturizer >>

Since your skin doesn’t need thick creams as you would during winter, switch to a gel or water based formula for moisturizer. I personally love The Body Shop Aqua Boost Body Lotion for a lightweight face lotion.

<< Tip #6 Avoid blow drying hair >>

This is the sure-fire way to get a frizzy hair party going on the top of your head! Use the sunshine to your advantage and let your hair air-dry.

If you are as excited as I am for summer, like this post! Thank you guys for reading and until next time, remember to stay Chic Neat and Sweet!
