So I have officially been in school for 4 weeks. Which means I am finally used to my morning routine. Let me start by saying I am not a morning person, I am a night owl all the way! With that being said, I have no choice but to get up early for school, so here is my perfected morning routine that actually works and gets me excited (kind of) to get out of bed!
5:45: Wake Up
I have never been a fan of waking up to a blaring alarm screaching at me, in fact it puts me in a very grumpy mood when I don’t come out of sleeping calmly. That is why I began using Sleep Cycle. Sleep Cycle is a free app that tracks your sleep and wakes you up between a half-hour window (that you set) to wake you up gently. You can also change the noise or music that wakes you up, and when it goes off it gets slightly louder until you hit either snooze or stop. Also you can view your statistics, such as how long you slept, when you were in a deep sleep, your average night, etc. This app is perfect for anyone whether you are or are not a morning person, so I totally reccomend you giving it a try!
5:45-5:55: Check my phone/ Drink Water
While I am still in bed, I wake up by drinking water that I had set on my nightstand the night before, and going through my phone. I usually check all social medias, respond to any comments, like posts/pictures, and check the weather/news. Some people say not to go on your phone first thing in the morning but it helps me wake up and lets me know all that has gone on throughout the night, and what is happening that day.
5:55-6:00: Wash My Face
The first step to getting ready is washing my face. I clean my face with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Booster, and then use Neutrogena Clear Pore toner, and end with Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Moisturizer. I like to give my skin a minute or two to let the moisturizer dry so I use this time to get dressed.
6:00-6:05: Get Dressed
I always set out my outfit the night before. That way it is really easy to just throw on the clothes and not waste a lot of time picking an outfit.
6:05-6:15: Do Hair and Make-Up
If I straightened my hair the night before all I have to do is brush it out, but if I need to do something with it, my go to hairstyles are a french braid or messy bun. My make-up routine can vary, but usually it consists of primer, foundation, blush, eye shadow, mascara, and chapstick. 6:15-6:20: Pack my Lunch
I prepare my lunch the night before, so all I have to do is toss it in my lunch box and call it good!
So my real incentive to get out of bed in the morning is to have my cup of coffee! Since it is beginning to feel like Fall and I love all things pumpkin, I have been putting Pumpkin Pie Spice in my coffee to make my mornings extra special! As for breakfast, it varies. Sometimes it is a simple bagel or just cereal and fruit, other times it is pancakes/muffins or a smoothie.
My final steps include brushing my teeth and using mouthwash. I then make sure I have everything and pack my bag.
6:40-6:45: I Put on Shoes and Go
Lastly, I put on my shoes. Grab my keys, and bag and head off to school!
